Recovery After Breast Reduction

It’s common to experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort for the first few days, which can be managed with prescribed pain medication. Most patients can return to work and light activities within 1 to 2 weeks, but strenuous activities and heavy lifting should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. Full recovery, including the settling of the final breast shape, may take several months. Scars from the incisions will fade over time, although they are permanent, they are usually well-concealed along the natural folds of the breast.
