Melike Külahçı MD

Dr. Melike Külahçı is one of the founding figures of modern hair transplantation in Turkey, with more than 30 years of experience and approximately 10,000 hair restoration operations performed. Her pioneering work helped establish Turkey as one of the world's leading destinations for hair transplant surgery.

A graduate of Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, she completed surgical training as an assistant surgeon at the prestigious University of Erlangen, Germany, gaining first-hand experience in the then emerging field of hair restoration surgery. She completed her specialization in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Istanbul University, followed by advanced clinical training in hair restoration in Germany and the United States.

Dr. Külahçı was among the first surgeons in Turkey to perform follicular unit hair transplantation with microscopic dissection, and an early adopter of the scar-free FUE technique. Over her career she has trained more than 20 physicians and over 100 nurses in hair restoration surgery.

She has served as a Board Member of the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS) and as a Governor of the Board of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), the first Turkish doctor to hold this position. She is a frequent lecturer at international congresses and the author of internationally recognized academic work in hair surgery.
