On the day of surgery, the patient undergoes a series of steps for a smooth and successful surgery. After that the surgeon removes excess skin, repositions or reduces fat, and tightens the platysma muscle. The patient's recovery process will vary based on factors like age and general health. It's common to experience some swelling and bruising in the neck and possibly the lower face.
