- Stop smoking at least 3 to 4 weeks before surgery, as it impairs healing and increases the risk of complications.
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil, for about 2 weeks prior to surgery, unless directed otherwise by your surgeon.
- Arrange transportation home after surgery and plan for someone to assist you during the first 24 to 48 hours.
