Important information!

Careful preparation helps ensure a smooth procedure and a comfortable recovery, whichever facial surgery you choose, whether rhinoplasty, facelift, or eyelid surgery. Our team will guide you through every step, but the following general tips will help you get ready for your treatment.

  • Attend a full consultation so your surgeon can assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, and aesthetic goals, and confirm the technique best suited to you.
  • Stop smoking and avoid nicotine products for at least two to four weeks before surgery, as smoking impairs healing and increases the risk of complications.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, and fish oil, in the days leading up to surgery unless otherwise directed by your surgeon.
  • Arrange for someone to accompany you on the day of surgery and to help you at home during the first days of recovery.
  • Plan your time off work and social commitments in advance, as visible swelling and bruising are common in the first one to two weeks.
  • Prepare your recovery space at home with extra pillows to keep your head elevated, and stock up on soft foods and prescribed medications.

On the day of your procedure, our surgical team will walk you through each stage so you know exactly what to expect.

  • You will meet with your surgeon and anesthesiologist for a final review of the surgical plan before the procedure begins.
  • Depending on the surgery, either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia will be administered to keep you comfortable throughout.
  • Your surgeon performs the procedure, such as reshaping the nose, tightening facial and neck tissues, or removing excess eyelid skin, using precise, minimally invasive techniques wherever possible.
  • Incisions are closed with fine sutures placed along natural creases or hidden locations to minimize visible scarring.
  • You are moved to a recovery area, where our staff monitors you closely as the anesthesia wears off before you are cleared to go home.

Following your surgeon’s aftercare instructions closely is key to a smooth healing process and the best possible results.

  • Keep your head elevated, even while sleeping, for the first one to two weeks to help minimize swelling and bruising.
  • Apply cold compresses as directed during the first 48 hours to reduce swelling and ease discomfort.
  • Take prescribed medications as instructed and avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and bending for at least two to four weeks.
  • Protect your healing skin from direct sun exposure and always use a high-SPF sunscreen once your surgeon approves.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol during the recovery period, as both can slow healing and affect your final results.
  • Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments so your surgeon can monitor your healing and address any concerns promptly.
