Avoid Certain Medications: Discontinue blood-thinning medications and supplements as advised, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain herbal supplements, to reduce the risk of bleeding.
Quit Smoking: Smoking can significantly impair healing and increase the risk of complications. It's recommended to stop smoking at least 4-6 weeks before surgery.
Limit Alcohol Consumption: Reduce or eliminate alcohol intake as it can interfere with the healing process.

The procedure usually begins with the administration of anesthesia. The options include general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Your doctor will recommend the best choice for you.
Incisions are typically made in the hairline at the temples, continuing around the ear and ending in the lower scalp. The pattern of the incision and its length depend on the amount of change you desire and your surgeon's technique.
For a mini-facelift, the incisions may be shorter.
Once the incisions are made, the skin is lifted, and underlying tissue is repositioned. In some cases, deeper layers of the face and muscles are also lifted.
Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the face, jowls, and neck.
Excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is re-draped over the newly repositioned contours of the face.
The incisions are closed with sutures or skin adhesives. The sutures may be dissolvable or may need to be removed after a few days.
The incision lines are generally well concealed within the natural contours of the face and ear, as well as in the hairline.

After the facelift surgery, you will enter a crucial recovery phase, these are the post procedure advices that you should follow for a better recovery:

Rest and Recovery: Ensure plenty of rest in the initial days post-surgery.
Keep your head elevated, even during sleep, to reduce swelling.
Applying cold compresses can help reduce swelling, but do not apply ice directly to your skin.
Keep the incision sites clean and dry.
Follow specific instructions given by your surgeon for cleaning and dressing the wounds.
Avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and vigorous exercise for a period recommended by your surgeon (usually several weeks).
Minimize excessive facial movements and expressions to allow for healing.
Refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol, as these can impede the healing process.
