Other Stem Cell Treatments

Stem cells can obtain from which teeth? In children, stem cells can be obtained from all milk teeth. In adults, it is possible to produce stem cells from wisdom tooth and teeth that are removed due to orthodontic treatment.

Dental Stem Cells

Dentin and pulp of teeth can be renewed. This is a product of the natural mechanisms of the teeth. Therefore, stem cells obtained from dental pulp have very high regeneration capacities. Dental stem cells are one of the mesenchymal stem cell sources and are the highest tissue source with a potential for neural differentiation. In addition, it can differentiate into many different cell lines such as fat, bone and cartilage via its multipotent properties. So, apart from pulp and tooth renewal, they can be treatment options for facial bones and skeleton repair, heart attack, muscle dystrophy, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Dental stem cells will play a key role in the regeneration of tissues such as the nervous system, bone, cartilage and muscle and reprogramming of the immune system in the near future.

Bone marrow stem cell

Bone marrow stem cells were the first stem cells used in medicine. Bone marrow aspiration is a short procedure, completely painless for the patient after local anesthesia. There are two types of stem cells in bone marrow: hematopoietic and stromal (mesenchymal) stem cells. All these stem cells are multipolar, so they have more division properties and can be into more specific stem cells.
Mesenchymal bone marrow stem cells can differentiate into cartilage cells (chondrocytes), bone tissue cells (osteocytes) and adipose tissue cells (adipocytes). Each of these cell types has a specific function and belongs to the corresponding tissue. Hematopoietic bone marrow stem cells (HSCs) have a number of specific properties, which can start spontaneously renewing or begin to differentiate into matured blood cells. Our organism needs hundreds of millions of new blood cells a day, and their source is hematopoietic stem cells. True clinical trials show that bone marrow stem cells have large capacity. They can be differentiate not only into blood cells, but also into muscle cells (skeletal and cardiac cells), brain cells, liver, skin, lungs, kidneys, intestines and pancreatic cells.
So we can say that bone marrow-derived stem cells are extremely important and there is a significant capacity to make vascularization in everywhere of our bodies.

In this context, we can easily use the bone marrow stem cells in every field, where we want vascularization, and we can give tremendous results to patients in our Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Procedures.
For example;

•    When we use with fat transfer, vascularization capacity of fat is increased and fat remains  volumetrically more longer.
•    We can get a younger expression in the face region
•    It is possible to use bone marrow stem cells again in every area, where we want to plump.
•    Also it is possible to very effective results in the rate of hair holding and even hair loss and recovery rates by using these stem cells again with Organic Hair Planting or FUE method.
Implementation

Before the intervention, the area where the needle is to be inserted is cleaned with an antiseptic liquid. Bone marrow fluid (aspiration) is usually taken from vertex of posterior part of pelvic bone (posterior iliac crest). The expert inserts a syringe into the needle and samples it from the bone marrow fluid. Aspiration takes only a few minutes. Bone marrow aspiration usually does not pose a significant risk.
The bone marrow is immediately sent to the laboratory and the procedure is started. Bone marrow stem cells come from the laboratory on the same day or 72 hours later. Whichever aesthetic surgical procedure is to be combined, preparation and implementation will be carried out accordingly.

Fat-derived stem cell

The process of obtaining autologous fat tissue cells begins with a simple liposuction procedure. Under general anesthesia, while the patient is asleep, the fat tissue is collected from the abdominal area.
After the adipose tissue is collected, the mesenchymal stromal fraction cells, including stem cells, are obtained from the adipose tissue. These cells (150 million) are enriched with active cell factors (interleukins, cytokines, growth factors, etc.) that are extracted from the patient's venous blood. The whole process is done in sterile condition under constant medical observation with constant monitoring of vital functions. Stem cell harvesting and subsequent fat transfer are extremely reliable operations. It is performed by a healthcare team with using high performance suction pumps and a liposuction cannula placed in the abdominal area of the patient's body.

Hair follicle stem cell

Hair loss or alopecia is a source of concern for everyone, especially for men. Medicines like Propecia and Rogaine are available for prevent hair loss of hair loss treatment. However, today's treatment methods are painful, long-lasting and aesthetically troublesome. Stem cell therapy, a new treatment method, eliminates all of these problems. Stem cells are non-specific cells that protect and repair tissues. Stem cells are unique because they have the potential to differentiate into various cell types. In tissue and hair regeneration, stem cells induce the exchange, behavior, or differentiation of cells adjacent by paracrine signal. Studies have shown that stem cells, that injected into hair follicles, make hair cells more active by paracrine effect. Moreover, this process triggers the hair follicle to form a hair follicle.
Stem cell therapy is the process of isolating mesenchymal stem cells from healthy hair follicles, reproducing in GMP medium and re-injecting them into the hair follicle. The hair follicles are taken by the doctor in a small operation. Mesenchymal stem cells are produced and prepared for application within a maximum of 1 month. Each application is planned by the doctor according to the hair loss level of the person. Usually 3 doses are given in 15 days. However, prevention of hair loss or re-hair formation cannot be guaranteed. The results vary from patient to patient. Stem Cell therapy is autologous and safe. Several treatment protocols have been shown for many medical disorders.

There are new and not many published articles in stem cell therapy and hair restoration surgery. This procedure is usually used for patients, that are not surgical candidates because because they are too young or are in the early stages of hair loss. Women suffering from hair loss are good candidates when hair transplantation is not desired or there is not enough donor hair available for the hair.
